US Finance Manager
Own financials, drive forecasting & revenue recognition, and partner with leadership to support profitable, creative work
OK COOL is seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day finance function of the business and partner closely with the Global Finance Director (UK based), General Manager (NY based) and the wider Residence network finance team (Global).
This role sits at the heart of the agency, supporting commercial decision-making, revenue integrity, forecasting, and financial performance management in a fast-paced, project-based creative environment. The Finance Manager will own management reporting, revenue recognition, cashflow insight, and operational finance support, while working closely with the shared services accounting team and OK COOL Accounting team (UK and US).
This is a hands-on role requiring strong judgement, attention to detail, and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders across client services, production, operations, and leadership. Experience within a creative, production, media, or agency environment is highly advantageous.
What You’ll Do
Financial Reporting & Performance Management
Own the monthly management reporting for OK COOL, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, KPIs, variance analysis, and clear performance commentary.
Partner with the accounting team with the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, discipline, and adherence to Group reporting timelines and accounting policies.
Monitor and report on revenue, margin, operating expenses, and project-level profitability.
Provide forward-looking financial forecasts and insight to support commercial and strategic decision-making.
Act as the day-to-day finance lead for OK COOL, escalating key risks and issues to the Finance Director as appropriate.
Revenue Scheduling & Revenue Recognition
Prepare and maintain detailed monthly and project-based revenue schedules aligned to client contracts, scopes of work, and delivery milestones.
Ensure revenue is recognized accurately and consistently in line with US GAAP (including ASC 606) and Group revenue recognition policies.
Apply appropriate revenue models across project-based work, milestone delivery, retainers, and percentage-of-completion arrangements.
Review client contracts, statements of work, change orders, and amendments to ensure correct financial treatment and as needed by the General Manager.
Act as the primary point of expert judgement for revenue recognition matters within the business.
Budgeting, Forecasting, Utilisation & Capacity Support
Support the annual budget and rolling forecast processes for OK COOL US.
Partner with GM and client leads in producing, maintaining and challenging a bi-monthly produced revenue forecast and risk assessment.
Partner with client leads, production teams, and department heads to challenge assumptions and track performance.
Create and maintain annual ratecards and support pricing decisions, new business analysis, and client / project profitability reviews.
Provide utilisation, staffing, and capacity analysis across production, creative, and delivery teams to support resourcing decisions.
Partner with leadership and production to translate pipeline demand into hiring plans, freelancer usage, and utilisation targets.
Help translate creative and production activity into clear financial and operational outcomes.
Cashflow, Working Capital & Billing Discipline
Prepare and maintain a rolling 8 week cashflow forecasts and working capital analysis.
Partner with client services and production teams to drive timely invoicing, PO discipline, and accurate billing.
Monitor accounts receivable and cash collection, proactively escalating risks.
Support effective management of pass-through costs, reimbursables, and fee vs non-fee revenue.
Systems Ownership, Process & Controls
Act as the finance systems owner and US business training lead for OK COOL, including project accounting, time tracking, billing, and reporting tools.
Support implementation, optimisation, and ongoing maintenance of finance and operational systems in line with Group standards.
Design, document, and implement scalable finance processes that support a growing, project-based agency.
Own data quality, controls, and quality assurance across finance systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
Partner with Group Finance, FP&A, and Systems teams on upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.
Vendor, Contractor & Influencer Finance Support
Review and support vendor, contractor, and influencer agreements from a financial and commercial perspective.
Partner with production and legal teams to ensure appropriate financial terms, payment structures, and risk considerations are reflected in vendor contracts.
Support vendor onboarding, set-up, and maintenance for production vendors, freelancers, and influencers, ensuring compliance with internal controls and tax requirements.Ensure accurate tracking, approval, and payment of vendor and influencer costs in line with project budgets and timelines.
Act as a finance partner to production teams to enable smooth, compliant, and timely vendor engagement.
Shared Services, Group & Intercompany
Act as the primary finance owner for outputs delivered by shared service teams across AP, AR, payroll, and month-end processing.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transactional outputs, minimising rework and exceptions.
Own intercompany recharges, reconciliations, and eliminations, working closely with the Residence network finance teams.
Serve as a key interface between OK COOL, shared services, and Group finance.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
7+ years’ experience in finance roles, ideally within creative, production, media, or agency environments.
Strong management accounting and reporting experience in a project-based or client-led business.
Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Experience operating within a multi-entity or group structure.Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance and operational systems (Netsuite, Productive.io).
Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
