Title: Influencer Director
Reports to: Head of Influencer & Creator
We’re looking for a strategic, culture-obsessed Influencer Director to join our team in the US and lead influencer strategy across several of our most important client accounts.
Based out of the NYC area, an OK COOL Influencer Director is someone who deeply understands how creator ecosystems work and how brands should invest within them. You know when a campaign calls for nano creators versus macro talent, how to tap niche communities that actually move culture, and how to design influencer programs that create meaningful engagement rather than just impressions.
This role is both strategic and operational. You will lead influencer strategy across key accounts, guide clients on how to best allocate budget across creator tiers and platforms, and oversee the execution of campaigns managed by your team.
You will manage 1–2 direct reports while working closely with Creative, Strategy, and Account teams to ensure influencer programs are integrated into broader campaign thinking.
Most importantly, you are someone who sees creators not just as distribution, but as collaborators in building culturally relevant work that audiences actually care about.
Responsibilities:
Influencer Strategy & Investment Planning
Lead influencer strategy across client accounts, advising on budget allocation across creator tiers, platforms, and audience segments.
Develop recommendations on creator mix, platform prioritization, audience targeting, and content approach.
Identify emerging creator ecosystems and cultural trends for brand participation.
Client Advisory & Strategic Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor on influencer strategy, program design, and investment decisions.
Present strategies, creator recommendations, and insights clearly to clients.
Partner with account and strategy teams to ensure influencer work supports broader campaign objectives.
Campaign Oversight & Performance
Oversee execution of influencer campaigns, ensuring alignment with strategy, creative direction, and client expectations.
Guide creator selection, deal structure, timelines, and content direction.
Analyze performance and translate learnings into future strategic recommendations.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Manage and mentor 1–2 team members, providing direction on execution, outreach, and reporting.
Ensure efficient workflows and strong delivery across projects.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Strategy,, and Account teams to integrate influencer into broader campaigns.
Creator Partnerships & Negotiation
Maintain strong relationships with creators, talent managers, and agencies.
Oversee deal negotiation and partnership structures to ensure fair pricing and strong brand outcomes.
Identify opportunities for long-term creator partnerships, ambassador programs, and deeper collaborations.
What we look for:
5+ years of experience in influencer marketing, creator partnerships, or social strategy within an agency or brand environment.
Strong understanding of creator ecosystems across platforms including TikTok and Instagram.
Proven ability to develop influencer strategies that connect brands with niche communities and cultural audiences.
Experience advising clients on influencer budget allocation and creator mix.
Strong negotiation skills and experience structuring creator partnerships across tiers.
Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
Confident communicator and presenter, comfortable discussing strategy with senior client stakeholders.
Passionate about culture, creators, and how brands participate in the social ecosystem.
A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Bonus: You have strong instincts for what makes creator content perform on TikTok and other social platforms.
